Almabtrieb - Homecoming Festival

Saturday, 19. September 2026 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
The Wildschönau Almabtrieb or cattle drive is one of the few remaining authentic festivals of it's kind in Tirol. On the morning of the Almabtrieb, the animals are milked, their horns decorated and they are driven to the home farms in the valley.

Program of 2026

• The craft and farmer's market starts at 10:00 a.m.
• The Auffach Brass Band opens the festival with a parade.
• Live music provides entertainment throughout the day.
• Serveral clubs and societies offer fresh and delicious local specialities.
• Craftsmen demonstrate ancient skills.
• Kids program

The first cows are expected to arrive at around 11:30 a.m.
Make use of the bus that goes from Niederau, Oberau to Auffach.
